Same Look, Different Price: What Hotel Buyers Should Compare

A lower quote may reflect a different specification. Compare materials, construction, delivered scope and service before deciding which offer creates value.

The photograph is the starting point

Two sofas can look almost identical in a presentation and still represent very different purchases. A photograph shows proportions, color and styling. It does not establish the frame section, joint design, cushion construction or the contents of the carton.

The useful question is therefore not simply why one supplier charges more. Ask what each price includes, what evidence supports the specification and which differences matter in your property. A lower price can be a sensible choice when its trade-offs are understood. A higher price needs a clear explanation too.

Build a comparison that survives the quotation stage

Create one comparison sheet for all shortlisted offers. Include the exact model and configuration, overall and component dimensions, frame material, surface finish, upholstery and filling, hardware, packaging and spare-part scope. Separate standard items from optional upgrades.

Ask suppliers to identify exclusions and substitutions explicitly. A quotation for a sofa without its table is not comparable with a complete arrangement. Neither is a price that assumes different cushions, assembly work or freight terms. Bring those differences into the open before negotiating the headline number.

Specify outcomes as well as materials

Material labels alone do not describe a finished product. An aluminum frame still needs a defined construction and finish. A cushion requires more than a thickness: the filling, cover, seams and support beneath it all affect the experience.

Invite the supplier to explain how the proposed construction meets your intended use. A sheltered balcony, an exposed pool deck and a terrace that staff rearrange daily can justify different choices. Ask for model-relevant documents and an agreed sample rather than assuming that a familiar material name guarantees the same performance.

Optimize the budget without hiding a downgrade

When a budget is tight, distinguish essential requirements from preferences. You may be able to simplify decorative details, limit the color range or choose a different configuration. Any change to a structural component should be reviewed for its effect on the intended use and confirmed in writing.

For a premium project, spend on the requirements that will be used and maintained, not on an undefined luxury label. A supplier should be able to show the revised specification, price difference and resulting scope. Transparency is more useful than promising an identical product at every budget.

Approve the sample as a commercial reference

A sample is most useful when it becomes a controlled reference. Record its model, dimensions, approved finishes, cushion details and agreed deviations. Photograph the parts that are easy to overlook: undersides, connectors, feet and attachments.

Decide how differences in the production order will be approved. A verbal acceptance of a showroom piece is weak protection if the purchase order describes something less specific. The goal is a common record that design, operations, purchasing and the supplier can all use.

Ask for a quote you can actually evaluate

Before awarding the order, ask three questions: Are the configurations equivalent? Can the construction and finish be checked against an approved reference? Does the delivered scope include what your team needs to put the furniture into service?

At SUNNY Furniture, dimensions, materials, colors and configurations can be discussed across the range. For example, the SN-SF06 page identifies aluminum alloy and PE rattan, seat-cushion filling and the supplied configuration. Use that information to start a specification conversation; confirm any requested changes in the quotation. The strongest negotiation begins with clarity about what you are buying.
