Buying a Hotel Parasol: Canopy Size Is Only One Decision
Match the canopy, mechanism, base, placement and operating instructions before selecting a parasol for a hotel terrace.

Specify the guest area before specifying the parasol
The largest canopy in a catalog is not automatically the best choice for a terrace. A parasol must fit the seating arrangement, circulation, service routine and the space available for opening, closing and storage.
Start with the area that needs shade and how it will be used at different times. Mark the furniture footprint and routes on a plan, then review the proposed parasol with the supplier. A shade product is part of the operating layout, not an isolated accessory selected after the furniture count is fixed.
Evaluate the opening and adjustment process
Ask how the selected mechanism is operated and secured. Have staff review the instructions for opening, closing, rotation or other adjustments that the model actually supports. Check clearance from furniture, walls, nearby canopies and guest routes.
A feature is useful when the team can operate it correctly in the available space. Do not assume that every crank-operated model has the same adjustment range or locking method. Ask which components are included and which operating steps are essential to the manufacturer's intended use.
Treat the base as part of the specified assembly
Identify the exact base or anchoring arrangement approved for the selected model and canopy configuration. Confirm its footprint, supplied parts, installation method and compatibility with the site. The weight printed in a catalog is not, by itself, a universal wind rating.
For fixed installations or structures requiring anchorage, obtain the applicable product instructions and site-specific assessment from the appropriate qualified parties. Do not substitute a different base or assume that a visually similar mounting arrangement is equivalent. Keep the final base or fixing scope in the quotation.
Require model-specific weather instructions
Obtain the manufacturer's operating limits and instructions for changing weather, closure, securing and storage. Assign responsibility for monitoring conditions and carrying out the agreed procedure. A parasol should not be left to individual guesswork when a busy shift changes over.
Tuuci's own published guidance illustrates why model and anchoring configuration matter: its instructions distinguish different products and emphasize proper securing and closure when not in use. Those instructions and ratings belong to Tuuci products; they must not be transferred to a SUNNY Furniture model. Request the relevant information for the item being ordered.
Read the fabric and spare-part scope carefully
Specify the canopy material, approved color and required documentation. Where a project needs a particular UV, water-resistance or fire-performance claim, ask which evidence applies to the selected fabric and finished product. Do not infer a rating from fabric weight or a general outdoor description.
Ask whether a replacement canopy, ribs, mechanism parts or base components can be supplied for that model. Confirm identifiers and the intended replacement process. Planning for a damaged component before the season starts is more practical than searching for a visually similar part later.
Keep product facts separate from operating assumptions
SUNNY Furniture SN-YS11 lists crank opening and 360-degree rotation, a 280 gsm color-dyed canopy and an iron cross base with 110 kg marble sections. The page also lists several round and square canopy configurations. Confirm the exact size and supplied base arrangement in your quotation.
Those listed features do not establish a safe operating wind speed, an installation approval or a universal suitability claim. Submit the layout and intended conditions with your inquiry. The buying decision should connect the actual model, complete base scope and operating plan before the parasol reaches the terrace.
